Reproductions

Reproductions of works in GMU collections are available for non-profit (scientific, study, expert) and commercial purpose as well.

PHOTOS

  • Digital photos in print quality 300 DPI/A5, A4, A3 (a better-quality photo can be taken if requested)
  • The gallery reserves the right not to provide photos of an exbibit whose condition excludes it from being handled, or of an exhibit that was loaned for another exhibition

ORDERS – PLEASE SUBMIT A WRITTEN REQUEST WITH THE FOLLOWING INFO:

  • List the items you want to reproduce (artist name, title, accession number)
  • Digital image type and quality, size of reproduction
  • Information about purpose of the reproduction (publication name/project name, author, publisher, languages, print run, date of publication, price per copy)
  • Contact info-address, email address, phone, billing address, delivery address (if not the same as billing address)

DELIVERY DATES

  • How fast you order will be processed depends on the number of requested photos, please allow 10 days minimum after we have received your request

PRICE, PAYMENT METHOD

  • Price of the reproduction is calculated based on the intended use of the reproduction (contact us for a current fee schedule)
  • Fees will be charged by invoice or cash as agreed
  • In some cases, fees for providing photographic images and for consenting to the use of the work for reproduction may be partially or fully compensated by an appropriate number of catalogues, professional publications or other printed material or media (this applies, in particular, for projects focusing on fine art) – such printed material or media must be sent to the gallery within 3 weeks of their creation)
  • In some cases, reproduction may be exempt from fees. This can be compensated by providing advertising space for the museum to promote its exhibitions (e.g magazines)

CONDITIONS FOR REPRODUCING WORKS OF ART IN OUR COLLECTIONS

  • The gallery charges the applicant a fee for production of the images and for the consent to use the works for reproduction
  • The applicant undertakes to use the photographic materials only for the purpose for which they were provided and not to make it available to a third party
  • No cut-out may be made from the reproduction, the reproduced object may not be covered by overprinting or otherwise altered without prior agreement
  • All colour reproductions of collection objects must be as faithful as possible
  • Any further use of images (subsequent editions, etc.) not specified in the original application must be requested again by a separate application and is not covered by the original fee
  • Works by living authors or decease authors (less than 70 years) are protected by copyright and cannot be used without the consent of the author or heirs. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain copyright permission of the work in question
  • The applicant must provide basic information about the reproduced work: artist name, date, photographer’s credit, if applicable) for the reproduction. With the reproduction, a credit line must appear that the reproduced work was provided from the collection of the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové
  • The publisher/applicant is obliged to provide the gallery with a complete copy of the publication, storage device or secondary material (e.g., large-scale advertising) for documentation This should be sent to the gallery within 3 weeks following the date of publication
