Library

Access to gallery library remains restricted as it is open by appointment only. To request an appointment, please call 727 806 960.

The library specializes in theory of art, history of Czech art and history of fine arts in the world. The library was most likely created in 1953 when the Gallery of Modern Art was founded. Its holdings include more than 11,500 books and other publications. The collection can be divided into three sections. The first one consists of encyclopaedias and monographs on subjects like theory of art and history of art. The second one consists of periodicals on fine arts and architecture. The third and most extensive part of the collection includes exhibition catalogues. Despite their small size, they often reveal valuable information for experts and students.
